About
榎戸 晶子 Akiko Enokido
For me, botanical art is a dialogue with plants. I observe and touch plants, and try to become a capabletranslator, picking up on the silent voices of plants. I try to depict these quiet voices as accurately as possible.
While photography captures a plant in a single moment, botanical art can also express the growth process from the time of a plant's birth, through sprouting, unfurling leaves, blooming flowers and bearing fruit.
Through my work, I hope to share the time I spent with the plants. And I would be very happy if you could feel the wonder of plants.
私にとってボタニカルアートは植物との対話です。私は植物を観察し、触れ、植物の声なき声を拾い上げながら、有能な翻訳者になろうと努めています。その静かな声をできるだけ正確に描写しようと心がけています。
写真が植物の一瞬の姿を映し撮るのに対し、ボタニカルアートは植物が誕生してから、芽を出し、葉を広げ、花を咲かせ、実を結ぶまでの成長の過程を時間をかけて表現することもあります。
私の絵画を通して、植物の生命の輝きを、感じていただければ幸いです。

MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) will host an exhibition showcasing various works and processed items made from Japanese deer skin.
My original botanical artworks painted on deerskin parchment will also be displayed.農林水産省主催 鹿皮紙の可能性を知っていただく企画として、様々な作品や関連商品が紹介、展示されます。
